best part of over my dead body

“over my dead body”

The first time I heard this it was on some terrible speakers, and I didn’t quite hear it right. My friend was also making fun of Drake’s sing songy rap style. But damn, hearing it on headphones, yes, this is why I have this blog. To post these special moments of musical bliss. Those lil drums in the background, the way she says ‘baby’, shit man.

Shout out to Drake for the Take Care billboard too, so slick.

0114 Diddy Dirty Money – Coming Home @ :017

Friday, March 25th, 2011

“my kingdom awaits…”

You’ll appreciate how good this song is if you take a road trip to NY State without your Ipod and you’re stuck with only the car radio. You hear this part and for :30 seconds, maybe more if you include the Diddy part, you’ll forget about exactly how many times you hit seek on your rental Toyota Matrix stereo system. Her name is Skylar Grey, she’s on the new Dr. Dre track too.

As previously tweeted, this guitar right here is amazing, and because it fits in with our instrument series, it’s #111 on the blog.

Enjoy! I’m going to check out the rest of the album. Jamie XX is a bit of pimp right now in the UK.

Buy the song and listen through to 3:23 for bonus points.

That’s an invitation ladies!

Seriously, not many songs start with this much intensity.

“hey baby…”

Just found this today on the youtubes, love it, you’ll recognize the sample right away…I hope. Hearing these originals really does it for me. This was used by Kanye on his album Graduation, for Everything I am.

Check the date on this, it only came out in 2004, but it has the feel of being a 70’s classic. Also, I couldn’t find a wiki on this guy?

The BPOTS is hearing the actual lyrics for the first time at the beginning of the song..and when he goes…”hey baby” which Kanye uses to great effect. What a sample!

Kanye I’m with ya baby… keep doinit.
