“I want to go surfing”
Here we are, the other side of 50, nice. Thanks again to Jeff W. for a great 0050th post. Take a look at his post here to see what people are saying on ExploreMusic. I am gonna try and go through some of that killer classic rock stuff soon, but lucky for me Jeff is going to do a few more Best Parts as well.
I know people like the classic, famous stuff the best, because they recognize the song and all that, but I don’t listen to a lot of popular music…so I end up posting stuff on here that is probably pretty obscure: Dr. Who Dat, Moodymann etc. And this is another one of those cases, but I’m hoping you also like this blog because you dig some of the artists we write about as well.
These guys are pretty new, found ’em on a FADER podcast, and this song is great. Warehousey Hawaii Five – O bassline, whistling, quick drums, nice fills, but the best part – dude’s vocals, not the lyrics necessarily but his delivery. Drawing out that first word just sounds cool. If you put all the first words together in the 2nd verse, he’s saying, “Wake up, honey, remember, darling. ” I mean come on right?!?
